A do-it-yourself kit promises to make your nostalgia useful.

There aren’t many things more achingly cool/pretentious than owning an old Underwood typewriter. Except turning said typewriter into a functional keyboard.
Now you can do just that thanks to a company called USB Typewriter that offers DIY kits, custom builds and ready-made typewriter keyboards.
The kits are only US$55 for a solder-it-yourself version, and US$84 for an easy install version. According to USB Typewriter, their circuitry is “A groundbreaking advancement in the field of obsolescence!”
It’s pretty much the ideal solution for all those out there who can only write beautiful prose on a typewriter, love all things vintage, or just want to do something useful with a dust-collecting model.
Sure, you risk being labelled a hipster, but you also get to hear the click of typewriter keys as you work, so who’s winning?
